I foolishly managed to start a small crack (approx .5 inch) right on the edge of my flat windscreen, when tapping a hole for some deflectors. Is it likely to grow, and what can be done about it? Do these specialist repairers deal with cracks, or just chips?
If it's not made it into the swept area most decent windscreen repairers can drill the tip of the crack & plug it. You won't get any guarantee though.

If it's any consolation, I had an L-shaped crack in my windscreen that went from the bottom of the screen, through the licence disc area and across to the side pillar, about 5 inches each leg. This passed about 7 MOTs.
