has anyone else suffered from diesel bug (slime mold living in fuel tank)

at moment I have some Marine 16 Diesel Bug Treatment on order but I am also looking for suggestions as the vehicle will be needed for a long overseas run in about 1and a half weeks time.

Years ago we were hit in our Citroen after visiting the Highlands and using some of their remote garages. The bug as you say hits the tank fuel lines and filter and was picked up when I was changing the fuel filter cartridge. I cannot remember the name of the marine treatment but I remember getting a 'sample' which was sufficient to dose the tank and remove the problem. I did not have any problem with the HP pump or injectors.

Run tank to empty, refill to full, change fuel filter. Don't leave it standing with the tank half empty in future.

this is my day to day transport, I use a tank full every 10 days or so. and the last time it stood with a half full tank was two years ago when on holiday.

ah, bit odd, it's normally an issue with water in the diesel.
