We must apologies for Conor. He's not taken his tablets recently and he's getting a little bit feisty.

Oh, I've met Conor before (in usenet terms, not in RL AFAIK). Besides, some of the AFLs can be feisty as well, and if you catch them on the wrong day, can be a bit prone to snap.
However, getting one's facts right before proffering opinions helps, cross-posted or no...
BTW. on the subject of leaky steering box seals - I tried some of that seal-fixing steering box fluid wot you can buy in the minibus steering box, which was leaking when I got it from the top seal, on the steering column shaft. I figured that for 4 quid it was worth a try. And so far, it's not leaked again. My flabber, a not inconsiderable item as them that know me would doubtless point out, was gasted.

bad form to hold PAS at full lock under load at all, really. as soon as you hear it hit the stops, you should back the wheel off a fraction to stop it overloading. On all the ones I've had, it's quite obvious.
Thought you said you'd met Conor before?

Please don't upset Conor. I'd like him to be in a happy frame of mind when he goes to work, for it might be his HGV that fills my rear-view mirror in the morning.
Conor uttered summat worrerz funny about:
Clearly a Troll to make such a comment cross posted to a landrover news group.
Do you like being unpopular or something? Bullied as a child per chance? No? Must just be plain spoilt then.
See we can all stereiotype all day long.

He'll be going down south to Save The World by trucking diesel around after that little accident they had, so if you live up Norf you should be safe.
I must start keeping track of his outbursts. I was beginning to wonder whether it was a monthly thing.
The message from "Richard Brookman" contains these words:
If you knew Austin or me you could just extrapolate.
Lard rover froup? That beer is strong isn't it?

The only thing you've got to watch out for on some of those snake oil solutions is that they can make the lips of the seals go brittle.
It's OK, got a phone call at teatime to say tomorrow has been cancelled because the lorry that was in bits at the dealers on Friday is still in bits.
It's still a pretend Range Rover. Anything after series 2 is.
Blimey!
If it's a pipe that's gone, there are only three on the system, one of which is low pressure from the reservoir to the pump. Then you have one from the pump to the steering box and another completing the circuit back from the box to the reservoir. I'd suggest you cost up replacing the two high pressure ones and have a go at fitting them yourself.
As it happens, I removed the entire PAS off a 1980 Rangey yesterday, ready to put on Ebay...
I s'pose expecting a braindead fuckwitted turd of a troll like you to piss off back to his own trolling ground is out of the question?
