First sorry about posting through Google (To those who dont like Google posts). Im not at home right now. So anyway, I found a 97 Miata. Here are the specs.

Black leather interior power windows power mirrors cd player/cassette new tires and brakes top was put on 2 years ago good condition, runs great timing belt has been replaced (Is this usually an issue?) 107k miles. $5400 negotiable.

I would like some opinions on this deal. Thanks. J

That's Montego Blue (as used on the UK Gleneagles special edition and the Jap RS-Ltd). I didn't know they used it on cars so late - it's normally a '96 colour.

Yes, should have been replaced at 60,000 miles. It doesn't break pistons and valves if it snaps, but it can leave you stranded.

Sounds like a special edition of some kind - "M" edition perhaps, I'm not too familiar with US-spec Miatas. In the UK you'd pay about 3000 pounds for the equivalent, so the price sounds about right if it's in good condition.

Montego blue was used on the 1994 "M" edition, and as far as I know, it is the only "M" Edition color that is not limited to the 3000 or so "M" Edition Miatas that were released each year between 1994 & 1997.

1994M - Montego Blue 1995M - Merlot 1996M - Starlight Mica Blue 1997M - Marina Green

For comparison, I just bought the same car, but a 96 with 39k miles on it, cloth interior, fairly new tires. $5800.
