Hey, you're #3 on my list from IL! I'm originally an Illinois boy by the way. That's right, I know how to pronounce it! Peoria / Chillicothe / Dunlap ...... my old stomping grounds. We had more good roads nearby than I have here and hills! God, I remember hills! I've got to go 150 miles to see a hill now. Where's Warrenville? And what in the heck is Mudge / Curmudgeon?

Hmmmm, the Delaware Valley Miata Club (DelVal) claims that they're the oldest and first Miata club in the USA too. I do know that at one time they were the largest.

Well that club can claim what they want, but Puget Sound Miata Club is reg'd. with the Washington State Secretary of State with a lic. dated 6 / 14 / 1990. Then if you go to the records of the Miata Club of America, you will find that the PSMC was the first club to register with them. On top of that, the first Mazda dealer in the US, is University Mazda in Seattle Washington.

So, what the hell, we all have great cars to drive no mater who had the first club .

Erm, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State, DelVal was registered June 11, 1990. But I don't know when they registered with the MOC.

So, how's about the two clubs split the honor?

I think it's time to go for a nice long drive.....unfortunately my boss has other plans for me today.

Not all of us have great cars to drive but it's supposed to come home tomorrow. I'm eager to see it's new paint, I hope I'm not disappointed...

BTW, I think Alley Oop had one of the first clubs.

Iva, that's too bad about the drive. It's 84 deg's here in Seattle and I just returned from a good top down drive of about 4 hr's. ( It sure is nice to be retired )

I feel the same way about the clubs. Who cares any how ! We were reg'd with Miata Club of America as "Puget Sound Chapter of the Miata Club of America" and we were the first to rag. with them.

I think I will go out for a drive in the sun !!!!!! :-)

No... I was looking for touch-up paint the other day and found that they came in both "Brilliant Black" (code PX) and "Brilliant Black Clearcoat" (code PZ). Not sure which is more common. Mines the PZ - what does your door jamb sticker say?
