Here's where you and your Miata are!

Dec 02, 2007 9 Replies

If ya'll knew how much fun I had seeing how wide reaching this group really is well, you just wouldn't believe it. I can say that I'm still trying to figure out why Miata folks tend to be so ......'special' (I won't elaborate as some heads might inflate and foil my theory). I have a theory and I think I'm on to it but let me just say that this experience re-inforced my belief that miata folks (for lack of a better term) really are something special.

Thanks also to some of you for pushing me to learn a bit more about Excel. This didn't come out all that beautifull but I think it's pretty legible. I pre-appologize for a couple type-o's and a couple compromises to make it look a little better in this format. I know there are a bunch more people who didn't jump in for whatever reason. If any would like to. You can post here and I'll add you and repost later!

Looks good to me. Thank you for proving me wrong. There is probably at least one lurker for every one that responded, so that would put the number at well over 100 if true. I thought we had about 25 here.

Here I am:

Jeroen Feelders The Hague in The Netherlands (Europe)

Sweet! Another 'foreigner' ;-) Can you give me the phonetic (fanetic) spelling of your name? You know, how's it really pronounced? Pardon my poor spelling, I'm still learning the english language!

Thanks for jumping in, Chris

Actually, only Cajuns are coon-asses. And their ancestors originally came from Canada, having been exiled from Acadia (the Maritime Provinces) in 1763 as a result of the Treaty of Paris that ended the Seven Years' War. (Acadian -> Cajun)

We now return you to our regularly-scheduled programming...

Chris, Thanks for the replay. My housemate's whole family is of Cajun descent. I am actually from Auckland, NZ. Yes, a transplanted Kiwi living in Louisiana.

:-)

No offense to anyone was meant, obviously.

Karl, there's also a guy from Auckland, NZ on the list by the name of J.Brockley. That name ring a bell?

Jeroen, you should teach him how to pronounce "Scheveningen" instead. 8;)

-- Larry

Since being a foreigner, phonetic spelling isn't my thing, but I managed to Googled a couple of phrases so this is how my name should be pronounced:

Jeroen Feelders yer??n fe?lders

:)

I don't even start with Scheveningen; you non-dutchies would break your tongue! ;)
