After the 2000 C230 went through a "brushless" high pressure car wash, the right outside electric rearview mirror stopped working. It will not change in the left-right axis. The up-down works fine. It looks like what happened is that the nylon jackscrew got separated from the little flanged ball on the motor shaft and no longer makes connection. It looks like the fix should be simple but I can't figure out how to get the flanged ball back into the jackscrew and can't see how to take the mirror assembly out of the housing. Suggestions? Thanks!
