Just bought a used 1999 E320 and the climate control display does not light up. Should it? The manual says nothing on this.

The center display should light up when the headlights come on. It's easy to replace the bulb. Get the radio removal tools from Ebay for about $15. Then remove the climate control box with them (same tools) and replace the bulb you'll see screwed into the top of it.
