4g63 SOHC and DOHC

Has anybody tried replacing a 4g63 SOHC engine's cylinder head with a 4g63 DOHC head? I'm planning such a project and in theory it looks possible. It seems like the engine blocks are identical and the only things to replace would be the timing belt and the timing sprockets since the belts have a different pitch (spacing between the teeth).

If anyone has tried this before, I would most certainly appreciate it if you could give me pointers on what and what not to do.

Thanks a lot!

I'd guess you have an older vehicle. Why not get a complete 4G63 DOHC eg from an Eagle Talon (they are dirt cheap) and rebuild it with new rings, bearings, seals, waterpump and head recondition, then just swap the engine. You'll also need the various air cleaner parts and the ECU, as its different from the 4G63 SOHC.
