Brake duct design?

At the disk end, what's going to be the most effective and efficient design for DIY brake ducts:


- remove the disk shield and fit the hose blowing generally in the area of the disk


- cut a hole in the disk shield and actually mate the hose with the shield so the air is blowing directly on one side of the disk


- something else...



Any ideas or thoughts?



BTW this is for "real" as opposed to a "Kev" modification. Just for info, the car is fitted with vented disks as standard and I can't afford cross drilled or slotted disk; the calliper is at the rear of the disk, if that makes a difference.

You want to aim it to blow through the vents in the disc i.e. straight ahead at the discs edges. Not at one side .
