It's quite simple - look after one (ie. check the oil weekly and change the cambelt at 36k miles) and it'll be fine.
If you don't, then expect it to break.
There are plenty of good ones out there - it just takes some effort to find them amongst the abused examples.

It seems to be the group's only weapon against SteveH.
I think the Wops seem to make some quite sexy looking cars from time to time.
Although to be fair, my vitriol comes from work, rather than the automotive tastes of SteveH.
That's not true, they also seem to have turned into an army full of Passat bashers - which is quite surreal seeing as actually it's a pretty fine car.
And you'll get almost enough for a small round of drinks from a grand after having got the cambelt changed as well!

500 quid, max. at a specialists - and they only need doing every 60k miles.
So buy one that has a bill for it being done recently.
