Hey everyone, I want to make my 00 GT Vert more powerful. What are recommendations for a set of cams? Or is it more worthwhile to get a set of heads and intake for the car? Or maybe both? The car will have 3:73's in it soon and it is an automatic trans car. I already have subframe connectors installed. I prefer to stay away from forced induction and nitrous. Any info or opinoins are appreciated. TIA David Short

I think you'll want 4.10s at a minimum for an automatic. I've got them in my car and it's a manual. Also, you'll want a higher stall torque convertor. I'm not sure about exactly what stall speed you'd want (since I have a manual, I don't pay alot of attention to the auto workovers). The engine...a timing adjuster and pullies are a good start. You can get your stock heads ported. Comp Cams has some nice cams, and you'll definitely want their valve springs. Stay away from ModMax since they've been shown to break far more than they should (I personally broke one and destroyed my engine). Don't bother with another intake manifold if you're not going to go with forced induction. Too much money for too little performance for the few alternatives out there. The exhaust side of the car needs attention. A high flow catalytic X or H pipe will help alot. Longtube headers also help. Shorties aren't much better than the stock manifolds. Bassani makes a midlength header that's pricey but is supposed to be really good. BBK is supposedly coming out with equal length shorties, so they may make some power. Done rambling...
