OT: Video capture

Me a few buddies were goofing around last night... was wet out a bit... not really windy, but a little was there... and we went over to an abandoned road and played with our toys (95 Mustang GT 5.0L & my 98 Mustang GT 4.6L SOHC)... we captured my burnout (power braking) and his (again, power braking.. he has 3.73 gears though ;D). On mine I actually tore up part of the street so I didn't do it again.. but anyway I've got it on my camcorder & have Dazzle Digital Video Creator 150 hardware.. but is there any other software I can use to pull the recording from the camcorder to my computer? I lost my serial when I bought the kit...

What software is it? You might be able to just find a key for it somewhere.

Tried finding a key... my friend is home now who has the actual legit serial. I'll get it from him later & post a URL to the vid.

If you need keys, do a google search for Serials2000. Chances are good that what you need is in there.

Assuming you need a key for legit purposes, try

formatting link
and enter the program name in the search box. It's more up to date than serials2000.

Forget the Dazzle software. If you run XP operating system, go to

formatting link
and download Movie Maker 2. It's free, simple, powerful. It's one of the few MS things that are actually great.

Windows movie maker? It's on there if you have XP.

XP will update to MM2 through Windows Update.

I have the movie maker that XP comes with.. doesn't let me input anything using dazzle hardware though.

Again, it won't let me input anything from dazzle equipment =(. Maybe the movie maker 2 will. Not sure which version I have.

Oh, I didn't catch that. Maybe the upgrade will fix it, if you purchased Dazzle equipment, phone or email them and ask why their crap won't play with WMM.

I discovered that it's because Dazzle likes to use MPEG and WMM doesn't like MPEG but prefers AVI. Sucks. I'll go dig out my capture card (PCI) sometime.
