There should be a hole below the end of the equalizer rod where the spring attaches in the bracket that the front cable goes thru. It is easiest if you can look at another Mustang or find someone who has a shop manual. I can scan a picture from the manual if you would like.

the other end of the spring attaches right next to the passenger seat pan
