You need to learn to use a voltmeter... check from large terminal at alternaotr to positve on battery... if there's note than half volt, theres your problem

The output of the alt is on a large wire in the larger plug.. that's the terminal I was speaking of.. there should be no voltage drop to speak of between it and the positve terminal on the battery.
On earlier versions (87, 88) there was a problem with the terminal to wire crimp overheating and sometimes burning.. But usually just becoming a bad connection.
I'll second BYMs suggestion to *LEARN TO USE A VOLTMETER*... it is much easier than it looks once you get the rules of electricity straight in your head.... and they are very simple, too.
It's difficult to do this over distances, especially if you wont go to Radio Shack, purchase a meter and read the booklet. My ersonal vote sits with bad cable connections at this time.... a few simple checks with a voltmeter while the car is running would pinpoint the trouble.
