I'm trying to rebuild a 1965 Mustang with the 200 cubic inch engine. The new water pump from NAPA is too deep . . . it hits the cylinder wall if you try to bolt it on. I've tried other years, tried the 170ci engine and tried Falcon engines back to 1963. They all list the same part number.
The parts guy knows that this has been a problem in the past but doesn't remember the solution.
Does anybody know what water pump to use or where to get it???
