Replacing brake master cylinder

Feb 05, 2004 1 Replies

I'm planning on replacing the brake master cylinder on my 86.5 Nissan truck. Are there any special things I need to watch out for (ie. thread sealer on the flare nuts)? My plan is to remove the MS, bench bleed the new one, install new MS, and flush system. Am I missing anything?

Thanks,

Pretty standard, same as replacing other master cylinders. Like you said, bench bleed, mount, bleed lines at master, then at calipers & wheel cylinders. BTW, thread sealers are not needed with flare nut fittings.
