Cold Start injector on 87 Maxima ???

May 10, 2004 1 Replies

Can anyone tell me if an 87 Maxima has a Cold start injector and where it would be located. A picture would be nice also. In addition, is that what I would ask for if I went to an Auto Parts Store to purchase one ?

thanks...

It doesn't have one. And even if it did, the cars that do will start fine without it. My 77 280 came with one, it was removed years ago and I can't tell any difference in the way it starts. I don't think they even operate at all unless it's below 30F and don't stay on for any length of time until it's around zero.

You probably have the start of a bad MAS and AIV valve.
