Idle speed for Pug 205 1.6 GTI

When the car starts from cold, It adles at about 1300rpm. At running temp it idles at about 1200 rpm. With lights and heater on it adles at about 1000rpm.

Things seem a bit fast to me, but at night and when the heater is on, I want it to idle at about 1000 rpm

To my knowledge there are no air leaks and the breather pipes are tight.

Would it be a good idea to adjust the idle speed using the air screw (the car runs very well as it is) to achieve an idle speed of 1000rpm when warm and electrics off, or might this lead to problems under other conditions?

I'm a bit worried about the MOT when evidently the inspectors can fail a car that idles above 1000rpm.

Thanks

Sp.
