my pontiac bonneville (1993 sse) will not start the security light flashes when I turn the key (I have 3 keys w/resistor chips and none work)and the car will do nothing. the locksmith wants $300 to put a new ignition in. I was wondering if there is a way to reset the system or bypass passlock or disable it somehow so it will work again. please help

How much does a independant auto repair shop want for the job? That's who should do it. I've done several where I work. Hacking up a great system is just wrong. And it's a nightmare down the line for a mechanic who has to work on the car someday...(BTDT) Take your old resistor key to GM. They will match the resistance and you can buy a new lock cyl (it comes with a metal key to copy) and blank resistor key. Have the resistor key cut to match the metal one. Have an auto shop install the lock cyl. One hour is a fair rate. GW
