Went to the store, turned car off, locked doors with remote. Returned to vehicle unlocked doors with remote. At this moment the doors unlocked and the trunk popped open. (the trunk opening was not because of accidentally hitting the trunk button on the remote, because the rubber part on the button is missing.) So after closing the trunk, pro ceded into the vehicle, put the key in ignition, and couldn't turn the key. Tried other keys and none will work. Almost as if the cylinder is frozen. Anyone else have this problem? Pontiac says it could be a number of things.
Help!!! Please, 2001 pontiac grand am, ignition is locked.

Yes, That was the first thing i did, but no luck.
Does it rotate AT ALL, even counter-clockwise to the accessory position?
Also, are you parked > Went to the store, turned car off, locked doors with remote. Returned
I can rotate the steering wheel, doesn't seem to be locked. On the
2001 grand AM, the ignition is not on the steering column, its on the dash. The vehicle is on a flat surface. I can push the button on the shifter, but cannot move it out of park. Its as if i'm putting the wrong key in the ignition, it won't turn at all. Dealer say its probably the tumblers in the ignition, they won't no for sure until i get them the car. Looks like i'll be taking the car to the dealer, as i don't have time to tare it apart.Tim
