Gas prices don't seem to be a whole lot different than they were in 2000, which would have been priced according to gasoline futures during Clinton's presidency. Then again, gasoline is cheaper now then what it was priced at in the early 70s before the oil shortages. But, going back to President Bush being responsible, feel free to explain, and again, use as much space as you feel necessary.

Oh goody, another Sadaam Hussein sympathizer. You might want to check the congressional voting record WRT the current Iraq conflict. (Kerry was a senator at the time) Then again, that area has been at war for the last 5000+ years, so maybe your point is moot.

So you think that's what I do in this newsgroup? As far as I know....my "soul" reason for being here is not to attack GM. I just call em as I see em. I'm fairly neutral about GM actually, I enjoy working on their vehicles.....but I'm not on the GM cheerleading squad like you are!

Who cares where I work? What difference does it really make. Sure, you can get the repairs done cheaper at other locations (maybe, unless you factor in no-knowledge f**k-ups) but the actual repairs that are needed on these engines are not what I would consider minor. I've seen too many of these engines come in at fairly low mileages needing a lot of very expensive repairs (geez, I think I said that already).

That makes little difference to the customer "earning" their wage in Canadian dollars. In fact, because our taxes are excessive up here, Canadians repairing their cars would feel the money pinch even more. And the Canadian currency isn't quite as bad these days as it used to be.

Please.....I know lots of GM mechanics who think that the sun and moon shine only on GM vehicles. I'm just not one of them. I don't really care about any one vehicle in particular......whatever works for me is what I will drive and repair. At this point, that happens to be Chrysler products. Not because they are that great...but because they are cheap and easy to fix.....I do not measure my status by what I drive.....and I have two sons that need cheap, reliable transportation so they also drive Chrysler products. The first car that I got for the oldest son was a Sunbird.....waaaayyyy too much money to just keep it on the road.

Yes, and if I was participating in a non GM newsgroup, I'd "tell it like it is" over there too. But I don't have time to do that, so I stay in the GM newsgroups.

This leaves little doubt as to how many 3800's you actually get your hands on.

I like GM products. They keep me very busy....if you know what I mean! (grin) Except for the new small blocks....damn them....almost nothing goes wrong with them! I'm just in the process of pulling a 6.0 liter out of an Escalade that is seized. This is quite literally only the 3rd or 4th new gen small block that we have had to do any major repairs to since they were introduced in 99. So GM is getting their act together on at least one engine.
