Low coolant light

Nov 09, 2004 2 Replies

Drained some of the diluted coolant in my wife's 95 Grand Am (3.1L V/6) Added a gallon of coolant and topped off with water.. The low coolant light is now lit up on the dash.. Is this because I have an "air pocket"? If so, how do I "burp" the system? Thanx, George Grants Pass, Or.

You always need to bleed those at the fittings, and burp them too when filling with coolant, but the reason the light is usually on is that the sensor sticks. Tapping on it usually fixes that. GW
