Whats wrong with Pontiac?

Ok they release the new G6, it looks pretty good, nice and sporty, yet no 5 speed, what happened to "Pontiac - Driving Excitement" not, "Pontiac - Let the slushbox do the talking." I donno how GM can push Pontiac as their mid range performance branding if only their base model and their top end model car comes with a manual. And I don't mean their gimped "manual shift mode" automatic's, I don't care how good you make it, a human can still shift faster and more efficiently with a standard. I know that 70% of the driving population is physically unable to drive a standard, due to mental retardation from birth, but why make the rest suffer?

It costs less to manufacture a vehicle that can only be had with an automatic. Look at those ugly looking Avalanches, I believe that they can only be had in an automatic. Who ever heard of a truck that you couldn't by with a stick in it. (rhetorical)

I think that Ferrari has some auto/manuals that shift faster then people can..or maybe it's Lamborghini..it's one of the exotic cars. I remember the first time I drove stick, I just hopped into the drivers seat and forgot to take off the parking brake and I was wondering why it was taking so much gas to get the thing to back up. Then I saw the little light. Haven't had a problem since.

Beleive it or not we owe alot of these problems to Women Stylists, Designers & Engineers.

The current 2000 -2005 T-Bird Convertible is designed by women, for women , with women in mind. This is why 6 footers are feeling cramped in todays cars.

Just the other day on the Discovery Channel there was an interview with a black engineer that designed & built the new bodied Chrysler 300. The

300 is now a big seller to African American market & a favorite of Hip Hop Artist's.

Here in the Chicago area for every ten 300's I see on the road, 8 are driven by blacks.

How do we get Detroit to hire more black engineers/designers? I think, at least, that the 300's designers are secure in their jobs. Do the car makers actively recruit such people away from each other? I think Buick could use somebody like that.

I hadn't noticed. I've seen so few on the road that, when I do, I'm too mesmerized by the car to take notice of who's driving.

They don't need to hire any new people, they need to just borrow some Cadillac engineers for awhile.

I've noticed that here too, its such a gaudy looking car, that it seems normal when they put 22" chrome rims on them.
