Toyota has subcontracted Tesla to build a Lithium Ion battery powered RAV4 to be sold in 2012. Telsa will bulid the BEV RAV4s at the old NUMNI plant in California. Tesla has build several prototypes which use Tesla designed Li-ion battery pack, motor, and power train. These prototypes will be shown at an LA auto show this November.
