Lithium Ferrous Li-FE Polymer Battery Electric Vehicle BEV DBM Energy Audi A2 Prototype gets 375miles at 55mph

A DBM Energy Battery Electric Vehicle Prototype using an Audi A2 body achieved a 375 mile range at 55 mph. The top speed of the Audi A2 DBM prototype is 99 mph using a 5 speed manual transmission. The Audi A2 Prototype Sedan retained all four Seats and its trunk space.



The DBM prototype is powered by KOLIBRI AlphaPolymer Technology (Battery Pack) which up to now has been used to power forklifts. KOLIBRI technology uses solid state 3.8VDC lithium Ferric (Li-Fe) polymer cells which take 4 hours for a full recharge using a high voltage current ( but it can take a nominal or minimal recharge in as short as 7 minutes ). This lithium polymer battery pack was first introduced commerically in 2009. The battery is rated at 260Ah/380VDC and weights about 660 pounds. The battery is designed to do 2500 full recharges and last over 300,000 miles without any recharging capacity lost.



The prototype was funded as a joint project between Kejjer Energie, a German utilitycompany, and the German Economic Ministry.
