97-900 - Alternator problem

Feb 08, 2004 1 Replies

Hey all,

Has anyone out there delt with replacing the alternator regulator and brushes on this model? I hate the thought of yanking the Alternator to do this job -- just because its such a bare. Can these be replaced without alternator removal? without loss of limb?

Or is it a better Idea to replace the Alternator. The no charge light is

giving me the warning -- somithing is a miss. the light is on, I give a few taps with a stick on the Alternator, its off and so on

Tom

Hmmm.. back in my C900 days I found a place that would rebuild alternators... but that becomes much easier once you have two so you can drop one off. I once air shipped one across the country (from English-Sweedish) cheaper than the local folks wanted.

Sorry can't help with the actual repair/removal. Still haven't bought any manual
