I am trying to find an informed opinion but did not get a response from anyone. I have the head from a 89 turbo 2.0 that was just rebuilt. Will it replace on a 92 nonturbo 2.1 . I understand the gasket is a little different for the cylander opening but would everything else match up. it seems like there is plenty of room to seal each cylander in the match. The 92 head is part 911535 and the 89 head is part 758614. If anyone is familiar I could use a informed opinion.

My uninformed opinion is that the turbo engine, especially an older turbo would have lower compression ratio than a non turbo, thus larger combustion spaces in the cylinder head. Best if you could see the heads side by side and prove me wrong.
The heads look identical. Reading the Bently text. The loss of compression is definately due to piston to cylander clearance which is much greater in the turbo also the turbo has a deeper stroke, both of these thing create a lower compression. I can find nothing in the heads that would alter compression. . both are low compression engines. The manual shows no difference in the heads as far as specs go. but the oil ports are mainly what worries me the most. it seems that the heads have a real tight lubrication system that has to line up perfect.
