I recently asked my (usually competent) independent mechanic if the knock sensor on my plain vanilla `85 900 was working correctly. He says I don't have one. Is he correct?

If it's an 8 valve no....

No turbo = no APC = no knock sensor.

We had an '87 900 T8, great car, fell apart due to corrosion and a very boring '87 90 (sold it)..
