sounds VERY similar to my experience (900S Build-year 96/97) I no longer trust a few of the electronic functions, such as fuel consumption calculations. I get the general feeling that the readouts are nothing like as responsive (speed) as they were when I bought the beast about 2 years ago. I believe that this correlation of noise frequency (ie fan speed) with motor revs makes the explanation of "binding flaps leading to flap motor skipping gears" to be a little suspect.
