Shell in Australia now sells 100-RON fuel - just wondering if it's the much-discussed ethanol-based fuel or if it really is a higher octane blend of conventional crude-oil-derived petroleum fuel.
Is there anything on the web which details the exact composition of this fuel?

Even the top-of-the-line Aero requires 98RON only. 100RON will be a waste.

At one time in the past refineries would add aromatics to the ethane base gasoline to increase the octane rating. Now, however, they are using proprietary refining techniques which produce a high octane fuel. I have not been able to discover the technique they are using. Maybe someone here knows?
