vacuum host question (c900)

May 16, 2005 2 Replies

Hi,

A quick vacuum line question here. I'm replacing the vacuum lines on my 1992

900 (NA) with heavy silicone lines as preventive maintenance... which is good, because many of the vacuum lines turned to dust as I took them off :)

I noticed that the vacuum line from the charcoal cannister to the intake manifold is different from other lines, in that it is very stiff and appears to be lined with metal (?). Should I replace this one with silicone, or just leave it alone?

Thanks,

John

Leave it alone. It is a rigid line like the fuel lines.

That one carries petrol vapor that may attack normal rubber. If your silicon hose is petrol resistant, it is ok to replace it.
