Value of old Saab Dealer Manuals???

Hi, I have some old dealer manuals. They are mostly for the 99 model, but also

95 96 & Monte Carlo I put the Monte Carlo one on ebay to get an idea of value... Here is the ebay link:

OK, so poll time. Is this guy: a) really trying to participate in the group, or b) just dropping in to advertise a commercial sale?

I'm not sure where the line is exactly, but this post is pretty damn close to it, I think. A jaded and cynical reader might think, for instance, that it's really about advertising his eBay auction , rather than to learn what the value of the book is.

What can I tell ya? I'm a genune car guy... an import car guy at that... I'm a VW guy though, and I got these manuals in a swap. OK, I will admit that I won't be a dedicated follower of this newsgroup, as I don't own a Saab. So I have no "Saab stories" (couldn't resist) Anyway, I won't comeback on here if I am not welcome, thats cool... thanks anyway..

No, like I said, I"m not sure where the line is, but the cheesy "I'm not sure what it's worth so here's the ebay auction" thing just screams "shill post". Something to make it more clear like you did with your later post - "Hey - I'm not a business or anything, but have these and thought y'all might like a shot at 'em", without the ploy, wouldve been a bit better I think.

Well at any rate I guess the manuals are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them, may as well put them on ebay. Even having a Saab, I have no idea what a factory manual is worth to me.

Given that I doubt many of these were ever sold in the USA, have you considered putting it on ebay.co.uk for example instead ?

What is your source for your assumption that not many 95s, 96s, and

96MC's were sold here?

I've only ever seen one or two of them, I see 900's on a daily basis though. Granted the 900 is a much more recent car.

Frankly I'm kinda guessing. My instinct suggests they wouldn't have been a great seller in the USA compared to Europe. There is a 96 that turns up in my road here in the UK from time to time.

If you know otherwise, do please say.

great seller in the

from time to time.

The 95/96 was only imported into the USA until 1974 (MC's only

1962-1968). In Europe the 95/96 continued until 1978/1980 so many more survived here. In the USA you will see more two stroke Saab 95/96. You will see more Monte Carlo's there too, in Europe this model was not sold as a 'Monte Carlo' but as a 'Saab sport' or 'GT 850'. In Europe not many were sold, and survived.

Well, I personally know several dozen in the Milwaukee area. Haven't run into another one on the road in a while, though.
