Enhanced PC Keyboard Mapping

The Win994a simulator faithfully follows the key assignments and layout of the TI-99/4a computer. The ALT key operates as the FCTN key, the CAPS LOCK key operates as the ALPHA LOCK key, and the CTRL key as the TI CTRL key. However, these key assignments can be very confusing when using the PC keyboard as a TI keyboard. Also, certain keys (like the ? key) do not produce the indicated symbol. Using the Enhanced PC Keyboard Mapping option causes the Win994a simulator to produce the letters or symbols as indicated on the PC keyboard. This means that you do not have to use the ALT key to get special symbols. Just use the PC keyboard as normal and the Win994a simulator will produce the correct TI ALT key sequence internally. When this option is active, you can still use the TI ALT key sequences if you want to.

Additionally, other PC keyboard keys become active, as follows:

PC Keys TI-99/4a Keys ARROW KEYS Left, Right, Up and Down functions INSERT KEY INSERT function DELETE KEY destructive backspace function BACKSPACE destructive backspace function F1 KEY DELETE Function F2 KEY INSERT Function F3 KEY ERASE Function F4 KEY CLEAR Function F5 KEY BEGIN Function F6 KEY PROC'D Function F7 KEY AID Function F8 KEY REDO Function F9 KEY BACK Function F10 KEY QUIT Function

Map Keyboard / Joystick

Use this option to map the PC keyboard numeric pad as joystick input. To use this option, you must have the NumLock activated. Use the Q key as the joystick fire button
