WANTED: PHOTOS OF ELECTED OFFICIALS IN CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MICHIGAN

Pursuant to litigation that is presently in-process against the county of Chippewa, seated in the town of Sault Sainte Marie in Michigan=92s Upper Peninsula, and specifically against elected officials who rule the county as if it were a personal fiefdom, veteran author and investigating journalist Len McDougall is asking residents of, and visitors to, Chippewa County to provide photos of elected officials engaged in illicit or unethical activities. Photos must be unretouched, original, and clear, preferably of high-definition, but cell-phone cameras are acceptable, providing they meet the aforementioned criteria.

All officials of Chippewa County are potentially of interest, and any federal, state, county, or municipal employee who makes his or her living from taxpayer dollars is tentatively a subject of this investigation. Submission of a photo carries with it an implied permission to publish or otherwise use that photo as it suits the purpose(s) of this investigation. Photographers are asked to provide their names and contact information, but confidentiality is assured, and anonymity is guaranteed if the photographer expressly wishes to remain unknown. Likewise, citizens who prefer to be identified will be given credit for the photos and information they provide.

County officials who are specifically of interest include the following;

Sheriff Jeff Moran, who is also proprietor of Superior Towing service, a tow-truck operation that would seem to be an unethical conflict of interest with the office of sheriff, but has been deemed legal by Chippewa County Prosecutor Brian Peppler.

Prosecutor Brian Peppler, who is suspected of abusing the powers of his office to persecute and prosecute citizens against whom he holds a personal grudge, of trumping-up outrageous charges for the purpose of plea-bargaining, and of complicity in the alteration of court transcripts.

Deputy Tom McBryde, former undersheriff of Chippewa County, currently retired, but paid to patrol the village of Paradise, where he currently resides. With a stated dislike of snowmbilers, McBryde has proved himself an impediment to tourism in Paradise, effectively biting the hand that feeds him. He has also, in at least one instance, submitted false information on an official police report to further the prosecution of a man who was innocent of the crimes he was charged with committing.

So, if you see a drunken judge get into his car and drive away, witness illicit sexual activity by a public official in any capacity, or are yourself threatened, coerced, or bribed by any person employed by taxpayers, please let us know. Digital photos only, please, e- mailed to snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com. Help us stop public corruption in Chippewa County, because the good people who live here deserve better.
