Pin Kit 1551279 ????

I just returned from a recent trip back east where I still have a few things stored. One is a Studebaker 1551279 king pin set including all four outer pins, seals etc.

My question is whether this is for the early suspension (1951-62) or late suspension (1962-66).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

It's for 61 and later all but c bodies. Did you forget that you asked the same question a couple of years ago? I did a Google search with the part number and it showed posts you made here from 2008 asking the same thing.

No parts books here, but the 155 prefix tells me it's late. (I don't know when the first 155xxxx parts appeared, but I'd guess around the

1959-60 timeframe.) If memory serves correctly, the early/late break occurred in different years for C-Ks and Larks so check your parts book (or just look at the kingpins or lower knuckles on whatever car you want to use these on; the early ones had six digit part numbers IIRC)

If you have some late lower knuckles you can swap both as a pair onto an early car and get some more caster for better high speed stability...

By that I'm assuming that you mean lower outer pins, yes?

OTOH, my high speed days are a past tense...
