Acceptable drain plug washer

My 1997 Legacy's oil plug used Subaru's crush washers, but in recentyears all Subaru has (here) is some flat washers. If a flat washer isacceptable then would there be any issue using just any old flatwasher of the proper size? I'm surer I have plenty in my hardwareparts drawer.

Thanks for the reminder. I do have some jack stands around still I think.

Man, I think about the stupid risks I used to take trying to keep my old POSes running - and back then I had a family depending on me.

Not worth it.
