alternator problems on 94 impreza

High quality marinade (Teriyaki and garlic perhaps)

1 inch cubes of tender meat, preferably from the nursery Onions bell peppers Wooden or metal skewers

Marinate the meat overnight. Get the grill good and hot while placing meat, vegetables, and fruit such as pineapples or cherries on the skewers. Don?t be afraid to use a variety of meats. Grill to medium rare, serve with garlic cous-cous and sautéed asparagus. Coffee and sherbet for desert then walnuts, cheese, and port. Cigars for the gentlemen (and ladies if they so desire)!

Crock-Pot Crack Baby

When the quivering, hopelessly addicted crack baby succumbs to death, get him immediately butchered and into the crock-pot, so that any remaining toxins will not be fatal. But don?t cook it too long, because like Blowfish, there is a perfect medium between the poisonous and the stimulating. Though it may not have the same effect on your guests, a whole chicken cooked in this fashion is also mighty tasty.

1 newborn - cocaine addicted, freshly expired, cleaned and butchered Carrots onions leeks celery bell pepper potatoes Salt pepper garlic, etc 4 cups water

Cut the meat into natural pieces and brown very well in olive oil, remove, then brown half of the onions, the bell pepper, and celery. When brown, mix everything into the crock-pot, and in 6 to 8 hours you have turned a hopeless tragedy into a heartwarming meal!

George?s Bloody Mary

Don?t shy away from this one, it is simply a cocktail variation of good old Blood Stew. When a pig is killed, its throat is slit and those present quaff a cup of hot blood to soften the wintry air. From the dawn of man to this day, humans have always drunk blood! American deer hunters are a prime example.

hi, recently i had problems starting my car, so after gettign the battery checked (no good) i replaced it. Anyways, the new battery died overnight, so i started testing things. Whn the car is off, 1 Amp of current is being drawn, when i disconnect the alternator, no more curent is drawn. The alternator is reading a resistance of 1500-2000 ohms. this does not quite jive with ohms law, but i know for a fact that its teh alternator drawing the current.

So what i need to know is if the battery is connected via relay to the alternator, and that the relay is stuck on, or if the alternator is busted.

thanks in advance, alex

I suspect that one or more of the diodes in the alternator has failed. If a diode's back resistance is low, too much current can flow backwards through it. Ideally no current at all can flow backwards through it -- that's what diodes are supposed to do.

Your resistance measurement, probably with a hand-held multimeter, is meaningless. You have measured the effective resistance at whatever voltage is supplied by the multimeter power source, probably 1.5 or 3 volts. You battery supplies in excess of 12 volts. Effective back resistance of a diode isn't voltage-independent. If the thing is drawing

1 ampere from a 12 volt source and if your multimeter had a 12 volt internal supply for its ohmmeter function, it would have read approximately 12 ohms and not 1500-2000 ohms when polarized one way (and probably something much lower polarized the other way).

You probably need a new alternator.

David, whose 1997 Legacy Outback had a catastrophic diode failure that took out one battery 2000 km away from home in California just after the

100,000 km warranty expiry point; to give them credit, two years later Subaru Canada finally admitted that the 1997 Outbacks had alternator problems, as Subaru USA had admitted a year or so earlier, and paid for the expensive third-party alternator (but not the battery)

about the size of a baby?s fist (there should be one lying around for reference). Bake at 400°for about 25 minutes - or you could fry them in olive oil. Place the meatballs in the tomato gravy, and simmer for several hours. Serve on spaghetti. Accompany with green salad, garlic bread and red wine.

Newborn Parmesan

This classic Sicilian cuisine can easily be turned into Eggplant Parmesan If you are planning a vegetarian meal. Or you could just as well use veal - after all, you have to be careful - Sicilians are touchy about their young family members...

6 newborn or veal cutlets Tomato gravy (see index) 4 cups mozzarella, 1cup parmesan, 1cup romano Seasoned bread crumbs mixed with parmesan romano salt pepper oregano garlic powder chopped parsley Flour eggwash (eggs and milk) Peanut oil for frying.

Pound the cutlets. Dredge in flour, eggs, then the bread crumb mixture. Fry till golden brown in 350° peanut oil. In a baking pan, place a layer of gravy, then one of meat, gravy, and cheese. Another layer each of meat, grav
