Front License Plate on '04 Legacy Wagon?
**** Thank you. I am not with the car, but I need to have a frotn palte put on it by someone else. Some questions: A. Was yours an '04? B. In the tray there was a "tool" kit consisting of a reversible screw driver (phillips/regular) and I think a wrench for (supposedly) removing the lug nuts. That's all I remember. C. What does it look like? How was it packaged? Was it in a plastic bag etc.?
Thanks again for your help so far.
I just looked at my 04 Outback and the dealer has simply used a frame and drilled self tapping screws into the bumper. Since it is already done I think I'll leave it alone but I hope you find a better way. There isn't any bracket in the tire wll either.

Mine is the same way, self tapping screws strait into bumper. 2004 OBW
Good Luck
*** This doesn't seem very elegant to me. I hope someone can tell me how Subaru meant this to be done.
Thanks.
Listen to the previous two responders, two screws straight into the bumper.
My '02 has two dimples on the front bumper where you are supposed to put the self-tapping screws. I believe that is what is noted in the owner's manual, as well. Might want to ask the dealer what the maximum length is, if not denoted in your manual.
