My 1997 Sub rhd idles at about 2,000RPM and speed varies (hunts) without moving the throttle. code P1507 shows up on an OBD 2 tester, "idle speed control". Any ideas for the cure? I bought the car as a basket case, engine in the trunk. Just got it running. Thanks
Power train code "p 1507"

That code indicates a problem with the idle air controller. It may be sticking, or not working electrically. There could also be a separate problem such as a vacuum leak that is preventing the ECU from obtaining the correct idle speed.
what he said. You might try cleaning the throttle body/IAC BUT don't use just anything. There have been reports of some cleaners destroying the IAC. I THINK there is a Subaru cleaner available from dealers for this. Or just take it in - could be something else i guess.
