'85 Golf Intake hookups-- what are they?

Jan 31, 2007 3 Replies

I have an 85 golf that was converted from fuel injection to a carburetor. On the intake manifold, there are two hookups on the right side (the hoses have been removed) and they route 'something' under the manifold (it doesn't enter the intake area, but it's part of the actual metal). It goes in a U shape and exits the same side. What is this for? Was it perhaps for coolant to warm the air on a cold start? Just curious.

Possibly. Since you don't have an '85 Golf intake, it's anyone's guess.
