I have a 440-T4 transmission that makes a buzzing/whining noise only when and if you put the shift lever to the "1" position. Apparently, this is normal as I've talked to about 8 people that have the exact same transmission and they all say that there's also makes that noise, but only when put in Manual 1st.
So my question is WHY!!?? Why the heck would an automatic transmission make ANY noise at all when put it manually into 1st gear!? This makes no sense to me...I mean even when the transmission is in "D", it's still in 1st gear at idle, right?
