BlueHeat

Grabbed a BlueHeat brochure tonight at the Toronto Auto Show. It appears to be a small gas powered heater that is installed in your vehicle so that it provides near instant heat and engine warm up. Anybody out there heard and/or has experience of it?

Not that particular one. Similar heaters have long been part of the auto scene, however. Wasn't Stewart Warner a big producer of gasoline heaters in the forties?

You may be thinking of "South Wind" gasoline-powered heaters. South Wind was a division of Stewart-Warner. They drew a feed from the carb's fuel bowl.

A gentleman by the name of Bill Cannon is still marketing reproductions of this heater for use in classic cars.

Yep, those are the ones. My dad had one in an old Ford. A number of years later he bought a VW beetle. Sorry heater in those old bugs. He found another South Wind, and installed it. Great results!
