I just had the exhaust (manifold) pipe and muffler replaced on my 93 Lexus e300.
Now when the car has been sitting for a while, there is a "pop-pop" sound coming out of the tailpipe when I start the engine. What could be causing that? It did not occur before the exhaust system needed replacement...

Poor seating of a gasket, poor tightening of clamps. When cold you'll hear the pop of exhaust, as it heats the metal swells just enough to seal it. May want to have a chat with the installer.
