Prices of ignitors

Don't need an igniter, but, was looking at one of the car-parts web sites and couldn't believe the price of ignitors. They want $ 3-400 each. They are the size of a small match box. Can there really be more electronics inside than in a Ipod or similar consumer device? Are they made of solid gold? What's inside them, anyway. Since wrecking yards typically charge

1/2 price of retail, I suppose any old wreck is worth at least $200 because of the ignitor?

Thanks,

I suspect an electronic ignition module, something like the CDI or HEI units.
