Taking radiator out of 89 GrandAm to Mercury Tracer 88

guys,

I've done something unusual. The radiator of my Tracer 1988 started leaking. Instead of buying a new one for $125, I took the one from a salvage GrandAm that I had for free and put it in the Tracer. The radiator is much larger but it fits in the space available. I was able to modify the hoses to fit. The overflow tank had to be replaced as well. Is there anything possible wrong in doing this?

Lots of things are possibly wrong.

But a radiator is a radiator. If it fits in there and is in working order, it'll cool the engine.

Just make sure it's secured and the fan works well enough to keep it cool (and the fan is secure).

I'm surprised that it fit because of the difference in car sizes. There should be no problem as I believe they both can handle similar pressures. Do they have the same rating on the pressure caps? I'd go with the lower pressure cap of the two if possible.
