Hello, my VW fox cannot settle on an idle speed. It will race and then drop down only to gradually start racing again with about 15-20 second duty cycle. It's really embarrassing sitting at a stop light. People think you want to race.
Anyone have any insight into this?
Could be all kinds of things, and since you don't mention what year it is or whether it has an automatic or manual transmission, most of them cannot be ruled out.
But if it were me, I'd first poke around looking for a vacuum leak before going on to anything else.
