Another thing I've noticed since starting to use these, is that I've not only gotten a slight MPG increase ( maybe 2 ) but can now use medium octane instead of high octane in the 93 Corolla wagon ( 1.8 EFI ).That won't hurt the injectors or anything will it?When I bought the car, they said I could alternate between medium and high octane tankfuls, but when using medium it used to run a bit rough.Now it's smooth, and I save about 10 cents a gallon.

Yes, it is. And it's sold as Snake Oil, "Magical Elixir with Wonder Restorative Powers..." which in my world sets off red flags all over. And BG Industries is big into touting "Power Flushing Services" as a buzzword, which send up even bigger red flags.

These type companies send out two sets of glossy sales brochures - one set for the consumer that touts the fantastic benefits of their products and services...

And one to the shops, using the same artwork and backgrounds - but these brochures are touting the incredible profit potential available from selling their products and services. Buy the fancy flushing machines, tout the fantastic processes, and you can convince the customers to skip the simple $29 brake bleeding job and turn it into a $150 'Brake System Power Flushing Service' that takes about the same length of time and cost of materials.

IMNSHO, CAVEAT EMPTOR. Bigtime.

BG may call it a "power enhancer," but if you read the description that you posted, they say that it restores flow in fuel injectors and cleans the fuel system. In other words, it is fuel injector cleaner.

You can read a Toyota owner's manual or factory repair manual cover to cover and you will not find any recommendation to use fuel injector cleaner or any fuel or oil additives as a preventative or routine maintenance. I have never used fuel injector cleaner in any of my vehicles and have never had a fouled fuel injector. On the other hand, I have seen over use of fuel injector cause problems and ironically clog fuel filters and injectors because the strong solvents in the fuel injector cleaner have started to eat at some of the internal fuel system seals and hoses.

You can skip the additives without having to fear problems caused by the lack of their use.
