OT: Top General warns against cut and running

Where did you get that idea, from Howard Dean? One is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts. Do a search of the Congressional Record as I suggested, WBMA. If you do you will discover the Senate and the House Intelligence and Armed Forces committees had the very same information that the President had when they voted to authorize the President to do whatever it takes to force Iraq to abide by the fist gulf war ceasefire fire agreement. The action the took in 2003 was the same that they took in 1998, when they authorized President Clinton to do likewise.

Who was shooting his mouth off constantly? The president. He rallied enough of the country behind the idea that congress had no choice to vote behind him. He created a situation where it would've been political suicide to do otherwise. As you've seen, this continued with his "for us or against us" bullshit after the war began, along with "hurting troop morale".

Like it or not, the buck stops with the boss.

You sure do like repeating that cliche, don't you? You sound like a mindless parrot:

"We don't need more troops in Iraq. Squawk!" "The war is going better than the mainstream media is saying. Squawk!"

But the big difference is that in 1998, Clinton, like any other president, Democrat or Republican, except GWB, would have had the sense to not invade Iraq.
