Let's start with the Supra. its reported that Toyota is once again looking into building a Supra with a hybrid powertrain coupling a V-6 engine to an electric motor. Further details are sketchy, but it appears that Toyota might greenlight a hybrid sports cars due to the fact that hybrid sales in general are improving. If the car makes it to market, expect to see it around

2013, which is also the target date for the FT-86 sports car that Toyota has been planning. The FT-HS Concept that Toyota showed at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show could preview the future Supra.

As for the MR2, that too is aimed at 2013, and it will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, as well. The engine is likely to be a 1.5-liter unit.

Here in the UK, Toyota is introducing an Auris (I think it might be badged Corolla if you get it) with a 1.8 litre petrel engine and an electric motor (Hybrid). It will be 136bhp and 74mpg. It should also travel 1.2 miles at 33mph on batteries alone. Launches on the first of July, just three days time.
